Lars is an international recognized capacity within tourism having worked in this area as senior executive for +30 years.
Since 2015 Lars works as an advisor and a project developer with private companies, international organizations, and public authorities using tourism to drive business, growth and jobs.
Before this, Lars was for a long number of years CEO of Wonderful Copenhagen, the Copenhagen destination management organization. He had a key role in positioning Copenhagen as a major tourist destination in Europe and known to be one of the most livable cities in the world.
Broad support from private and public stakeholders
His key role has been to create a broad support from private and public stakeholders, uniting them to collaborate on common strategies, concepts and concrete projects within tourism in its very broad definition.
He has been vital in moving the organization Wonderful Copenhagen from a traditional tourist entity to a larger, strategically oriented project organization.
Lars also worked as deputy permanent secretary in the Danish government, responsible for the national tourism policy of Denmark. He has also been a diplomat and served as private assistant to the prime minister of Denmark.
